Hi, my name’s Marina Soria and I am the content and community coordinator here at Spawn Ideas; this means I help expand Spawn’s social media marketing services and other online content strategies.
Tell us about the journey that led you to join the Spawn team.
I had just recently moved back from living in Fairbanks. There I had been working as a dental assistant (marketing jobs in Fairbanks weren’t exactly on the rave) but was on the prowl for a job in my degree field when I came across Spawn’s Social Media Content internship. Spawn had always been my dream agency, having knowledge of their work from living in Anchorage for the majority of my life. One long, thought-out cover letter and a nerve-racking interview later, I got a call saying I had made the cut. Six months later they offered me a permanent position and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
What are you most proud of from your work here at Spawn?
When I was hired, it was an initial goal of the Spawn team to become an agency that prioritizes organic content. Both internally and with our clients. And I’m so proud to say we’ve now adopted (and stuck to) a content calendar and taken steps towards creating organic content within a campaign.
What is your idea of success?
Living a life where you get to do what you love.
What’s the best advice you were ever given, and who was it from?
“If you wait for others to do what you want, you’ll be waiting your whole life. Don’t be afraid to walk alone.” – My dad
When I was growing up, he always told me this because he never wanted me to be afraid to step out of my comfort zone and do things on my own. Now that I’m older it’s expanded into my way of thinking, and helped me to never be afraid to lead with an idea.
Finish the sentence: My professional True North is____
Showing our clients the importance of content to drive meaningful relationships with consumers.
