Hi, my name is Hannah Laird and I’m an Account Manager here at Spawn Ideas. This means I’m in charge of making sure my clients achieve and exceed their business goals.

Tell us about the journey that led you to join the Spawn team.

Close to five years ago I ran into my friend, softball teammate and now colleague, Michelle at a beer festival and while we were discussing our respective careers, she told me all about an opportunity at the company she worked at, Spawn Ideas. I had heard of them before but was curious, so I went home, looked up the company, got excited, applied for the position and the rest is history.

What are you most proud of from your work here at Spawn?

Although I’m extremely proud of the various campaign successes and goals I’ve helped my clients meet over the years, it’s the relationships I’ve gained that I’m most proud of, both in and outside of Spawn.

What is your idea of success?

Balancing a challenging yet rewarding career with a happy personal life that includes gratitude, fulfilling relationships, kindness and humor.

What’s the best advice you were ever given, and who was it from?

If I had to pick something that recently resonated with me, it would be a quote from journalist Michele Norris who was interviewed on the new Michelle Obama podcast. Norris casually states “Don’t reach for normal, reach for better.”

That or the daily affirmation via Saturday Night Live “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough and doggone it, people like me” – Stuart Smalley.

Finish the sentence: My professional True North is__

A combination of hard work, self-awareness, vulnerability, humility and creativity.
